This month we’re delighted to introduce our new E-Bike Tours, offering a fun and effortless way to explore more of the area. We’re also bringing some exciting new flavours to the table with additions to our Tapas Menu - West Cork Style, in Dunes Bistro, ideal for sharing with friends or family. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s also a great opportunity to plan something a little different and treat the special person in your life. 

Looking ahead, Easter is also a wonderful time to plan a short break by the sea. As the days grow longer and the fresh Atlantic air begins to feel a little softer, it’s the ideal opportunity to escape, unwind and enjoy everything the area has to offer. We’re delighted to introduce our new guided E-Bike tours in collaboration with local company Gormú. Departing directly from the hotel, these trips offer guests a relaxed and enjoyable way to explore the beautiful West Cork countryside. With the help of comfortable electric bikes, you can take in the stunning coastal scenery, charming villages and fascinating local history without breaking a sweat.

Our Tojo the Monkey & other Clonakilty Stories Tour is the perfect gentle adventure. This 2.5-hour guided cycle brings guests through the nearby village of Ring and into Clonakilty, following quiet country roads and scenic routes. Along the way, your guide will share local stories, folklore and colourful characters from the area—including the famous tale of Tojo the Monkey, a story that has become part of local legend. 

For those who want to venture a little further, our Signature Coastal E-Bike Adventure  is a 4.5-hour experience that showcases some of the most spectacular scenery in West Cork. The route takes in Galley Head, Ardfield and Rathbarry, with plenty of time to enjoy the views and hear the rich history and stories connected to the landscape. The tour also includes a delicious seafood lunch stop at the renowned Fish Basket, making it a truly memorable coastal experience.

Whether you choose the shorter afternoon spin or the longer morning adventure, our E-Bike tours are designed to be relaxed, social and full of local character—an ideal way to experience West Cork during your stay.

Throw away the wellies, be done with the raincoat – there’s a taste of Spain to be found in West Cork.  For a limited time, Dunes Pub & Bistro, our award winning gastro bar, will cheer you with sunshine on a plate with our new Tapas menu.

A collaboration between our Head Chef Alan Forde and our Spanish chef Emilio Lopez, our Tapas menu is the perfect blend of West Cork’s finest produce and Spain’s mouth-watering ingredient combinations. The menu features favourite Iberian small plates including Shellfish de la Mer Gambas al Ajilo served with Sourdough, Soft Shell Crab Crispfried, Loughnane’s Chorizo in Red Wine or try Padron Peppers with Sea Salt and a Balsamic Glaze, Caherbeg Jambon Croquette with Parmesan, Aioli and a Basil whipped Toonsbridge Feta with Stone Baked Baguette and Olive Oil. 

Priced from €6 per tapa, the menu will be accompanied by Spanish wines and beer. For the Red Wine lovers, enjoy Vina Egula, Tempranillo while for those that enjoy white, a chilled glass of the aptly named La Bascula, Atlantic Way Albarino awaits.  Estrella Galicia, the famous Spanish beer will bring an authentic taste to this Tapas treat.
